BEMIDJI — The Hillcrest/Pelican Rapids boys soccer team finished its season unbeaten as it topped the Bemidji Lumberjacks 6-1 Monday.
Kevin Franco got the Comets on the board at the 22 minute mark, but Bemidji immediately responded with a goal of its own. The half would see no more scoring as the Lumberjacks threaten Hillcrest 1-1 at the break.
The Comets would respond to the challenge scoring three goals in two and a half minutes as Pellegrino would notch two goals and Franco would add his second. Pellegrino would continue his scoring onslaught adding two more goals before the game ended to insure a victory.
With the six goals scored in the game, the Comets continue to make school history as it surpassed its 128 goals in a season and now sit at 135 on the year.
The Comets will now wait to see who its opponent is on Thursday as it hosts a 4 p.m. Section 8A playoff match up.
