Visiting Blue Jays block Spartan win

Published 10:19am Monday, October 14, 2013

Hampered by high winds and rain on Saturday, the M State Fergus Falls Spartans lost their final home game to the Minnesota West Community Blue Jays 27-7.

The Spartans lone touchdown of the game came in the third quarter when Spartan quarterback Jesse Vanilau scored on a two-yard quarterback keeper. Cody Guevara added the extra point.

Issues with long snaps during punts gave the Blue Jays short field position on many of its drive. the Spartans will have to fix the issue over a short week as M State takes on Itasca Commmunity College at 2 p.m. Thursday in Grand Rapids.
