Darrell Lee Richard Jordan, 32, of New York Mills, was sentenced Oct. 7 in Otter Tail County District Court to 180 days in jail, with 160 days to be stayed for two years, for gross misdemeanor domestic assault.
According to the criminal complaint, Jordan assaulted a woman on the evening of June 22 in New York Mills. An argument ensued, and Jordan reportedly picked up a shoe using a hitting motion and grabbed a dog by the neck. The victim had a cut on her lower leg. Jordan reportedly held a knife to his throat and threatened to kill himself.
Jordan was convicted of second-degree assault Oct. 30, 2006, a domestic violence-related offense.
