Approximately 100 business educators, including Angela Hartman (who is the business teacher at Underwood High school), attended the 46th annual fall conference of Minnesota Business Educators, Inc.(MBEI), held Oct. 11, at the Courtyard Marriott Mankato in Mankato.
The conference’s theme was “What’s the Buzz in Business Education.”
The conference keynote speakers were Dan and Angie Bastian, co-founders of Angie’s Kettle Corn. Hartman was able to attend breakout sessions relating to “Bringing New Technologies into the Classroom,” “EverFi Financial Literacy,” “Using Apps in the Business and Marketing Classroom,” and “Overview of IT Exploration Curriculum.”
The conference also allowed Business Educators from all over the state of Minnesota to gather and network about best teaching practices within the profession.
Through the conference Mrs. Hartman was able to obtain new curriculum to be added to Underwood’s current Personal Finance class and curriculum for new class in Information Technology that will be offered to students next school year.
Hartman was recently elected to a two-year term as president of the Western division of MBEI, which includes approximately 40 schools in our region.
