Dreaded ‘S’ word in forecastPublished 12:33pm Friday, October 18, 2013
“Snow likely,” may not be a welcome phrase in mid-October, but there it is in the National Weather Service’s forecast for the Fergus Falls area.
The NWS forecasts a 60 percent chance of precipitation on Saturday night and Sunday, with snow likely before 1 p.m. Sunday and then mixed rain and snow after that. The high temperature is forecast in the upper 30s and the low at 29, so it’s unlikely any snow will stick around — or stick on the ground at all.
Nightly low temperatures just below freezing are forecast at least through the middle of next week.
