Bruggeman rushes Vikings past Silverstreaks

PELICAN RAPIDS — Ryan Bruggeman continues to have a stellar season and on Tuesday evening it carried into the playoffs as the Pelican Rapids Vikings picked up an opening round win over Osakis 49-30.

Bruggeman’s stat line saw him carry the ball 23 times for 245 yards and four touchdowns, while also hauling in two catches for 47 yards.

The senior wasn’t the only one who contributed to the Vikings’ 401 rushing yards as Nick Thompson split defenders on the way to a 112 yards on 12 carries and two touchdowns.

The Vikings advance to the Section 8AA semifinals, where it will take on No. 5 (Class AA) Holdingford at 7 p.m. Saturday.
