Chargers blank Tigers

ROTHSAY — The Brandon-Evansville Chargers were able to keep in-step with the Battle Lake Battlers Thursday evening as it defeated another Little Eight Conference opponent in Rothsay, 25-13, 25-12, 25-19.

“I was pleased with how we not only came out in each set, but how we finished each set,” Charger coach Kelly Olson said. “Those closing points are so important in keeping momentum, and we closed very well tonight.”

Toni Wright led B-E from the service line going 20 for 20 with three aces, while teammate Emma Friedrich also recorded three aces in the win.

The Chargers will travel to Bertha-Hewitt for a 9:30 a.m. Saturday tournament, while the Tigers will look to recover as it hits the road to take on LEC opponent Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
