Loge writes devotional book for families

William (Bill) Loge, a retired pastor, has authored and published the book, “31 Sizzling Scripture Passages from the Heart of God: Bible Devotional for Busy Families.”

Though Loge has been in ministry 46 years, it never occurred to him to be an author until after his retirement.

He strongly felt God urging him to write a scripture-based devotional that parents and other adults could share with children.

Bill stepped forward and in the winter of 2012 began to write.

“Over the course of my life and my ministry years, certain passages have nearly jumped off the pages of Scripture with riveting and often delightful responses to my heart and mind,” he said.

The book has a basic Bible message and then an “extra” feature for both adults and children who wish to go deeper.

Each of the 31 devotionals includes an original illustrative sketch, to which artist Steve Henning of Evansville has contributed his skills.

While many helped toward the finished product, three people stood out as outstanding in their contribution to the book: his wife Jean, Loge’s sister, Becky Tighe of Battle Lake, and Joy Minion of Fergus Falls.

The devotional book is available at Victor Lundeen Company, where a book signing is planned from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
