Naz offers Surviving the Holidays seminar for newly divorced

The Nazarene Church will host a “DivorceCare: Surviving the Holidays” seminar, a helpful, encouraging seminar for people facing the holidays after a separation or divorce. The seminar will begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6th at the Church of the Nazarene located at 1319 N. Cleveland Ave., in Fergus Falls.

This seminar will be for adults and for elementary age children (kindergarten through sixth grade) and will meet at the same time at the church but in separate rooms. The cost for this event is $5 for adults and children are free.

The seminar features practical suggestions, guidance and reassurance through video interviews with counselors, experts in divorce-related care and people who have experienced the holidays after separation or divorce.

Discussion topics will include “Why the Holidays are Tough,” “What Emotions to Expect,” “How to Plan and Prepare,” “How to Handle Uncomfortable Situations,” and “Using the Holidays to Help You Heal.”

The adults who attend will receive a free book with more than 30 daily readings providing additional insights and ideas on holiday survival.
