Pelican Rapids fined for wastewater violations

Published 12:33pm Friday, October 18, 2013

Violations at the city’s wastewater treatment plant have cost Pelican Rapids almost $5,300, according to city administrator Don Solga.

The violations date back to 2011 and 2012 and occurred before the city contracted PeopleService Inc. to manage the plant, according to a report in The Pelican Rapids Press.

PeopleService helped to correct the deficiencies, some of which Solga said were traced back to failed pumps.

The fines could be reduced since corrective measure have been taken.
