Rockets sweep past Comets

Published 10:24am Wednesday, October 16, 2013

The visiting Underwood Rocket volleyball team only needed three sets to defeat the Hillcrest Comets Tuesday night, earning its second win against the Comets this season (25-11, 25-18, 25-14).

Holly Salvesen led the Comet offense with seven kills. Maddie Veum had 11 digs on defense for Hillcrest.

“Our weak spot tonight which took us out of being able to take a set was our serve receive,” said Comet head coach Dessica Veum. “Underwood had many aces on us. We will continue to work on that area of our game as we get ready for our playoff game”

Kaitlyn Holen recorded 15 kills for the Rockets, while teammate Jacey Ross had 18 set assists.

The Comets’ next game will be on Thursday, Oct. 24 for the first round of the Section 6A tournament.
