Tigers drop Bombers

ROTHSAY — The Rothsay Tiger volleyball team started the Section 6A tournament with a bang on Thursday night, defeating the visiting Waubun Bombers in three sets (25-9, 25-21, 25-21).

“We started the match strong and took control of game one right away,” Tiger coach Heather Reber said. “We passed the ball well and were successful at the net offensively.”

Caitlin Simmer led the Tigers with 10 kills and two serve aces. Lexy Dunbar contributed eight kills and a serve ace.

Rothsay hits the road for another 7 p.m. match Friday night against the second seeded New York Mills Eagles.
