Vikings fall to Panthers in three sets

PELICAN RAPIDS — The Vikings fought a close second set, but could not overcome a strong attack by Park Rapids as it fell in three sets 25-17, 27-25, 25-18.

“The girls started to connect offensively,” Vikings’ coach Heidi Isaman. “Madeline Sytsma and a few key kills to get us going. We played a tight game but couldn’t push through for the win.”

Abby Strand led the Vikings defense with 12 digs, while Madeline Sytsma led the team in kills with seven.

The Vikings will continue its home stand Tuesday as it hosts the New York Mills Eagles in a 7:30 p.m. match up. The Pelican Rapids players will also be signing autographs for elementary students before the game.
