Pelican 1st in Valhalla

PELICAN RAPIDS -— Another double digit night for Pelican Rapids girls basketball player Mackenzie Korf led the Vikings to a championship at their home Holiday Girls Basketball Classic. The Vikings topped Warroad 64-41 on Saturday to win the Valhalla Division.

Korf finished with 23 points and 10 assists, giving her a double-double. She also had nine rebounds, just missing the triple-double.

Ashlyn French had 13 points in the Vikings’ winning effort.

The Pelican Rapids team is back in action on Friday when it travels to Ada to face the Ada-Borup Cougars.

In the Valkyrie Division, Ulen-Hitterdal won the championship over Park Rapids Area.

Battle lake finished third in the divistion, beating Rothsay 46-31 in the final game.

Ashley Maack led the Tigers in the game with 19 points and was named to the All-Tournament team.

Rothsay returns to the court on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. game against Barnesville. The Battlers Take on Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Monday, Jan. 6 in Graceville.

Lake Park took third in the Valhalla Division with a 65-34 victory against Underwood.

The Rocket girls team takes onClinton-Graceville-Beardsly on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at home.
