Officer allegedly assaulted [UPDATED]

A 27-year-old man was arrested Monday after he tried to assault an officer, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities were called to a rural Erhard residence at 7:11 p.m. for a disturbance involving the man being out of control. He was reportedly throwing items around the house. His family reportedly told officers the man has a history of emotional instability and hostility with law enforcement.

The man tried to assault one of the officers when they arrived. The officer was not injured. A taser was deployed and the man was arrested for fourth-degree assault of a peace officer.
