Comet girls win in OT

ROTHSAY — The Hillcrest girls basketball team celebrated a 48-39 overtime victory over the Rothsay Tigers Thursday.

Megan Aasness sent the game into overtime as she hit a three-point shot with 10 seconds left to tie the game for the Comets.

Kelsey Nersten finished the night with 26 points for Hillcrest, while Ashley Maack led the Tigers with 12 tallies.

The Comets will be on an extended break as it will travel to Parkers Prairie on Thursday, Jan. 9, while the Tigers will travel to the Pelican Rapids tourney on Dec. 27.
