A 47-year-old Brook Park man was cited early Friday after he went through vehicles in the parking lot of Sunrise Apartments in Fergus Falls, according to police.

Someone called police after they saw the man going through vehicles in the parking lot just before 2 a.m. Police located him in the area of Broadway and Cedar Avenue and conducted a traffic stop. The man told police he was with a repossession company looking for a vehicle, however he was unable to provide any documentation that he worked for a repossession company.

He had entered one vehicle, found the keys inside, started it and determined it wasn’t the vehicle he was looking for, he reportedly told police. He was cited for motor vehicle tampering.
