Nora L. Kugler, 82, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls.

She was born June 11, 1931, in rural Fergus Falls in Otter Tail County, the daughter of Math and Gina (Lyngstad) Mostue. She attended Edwards rural school along with other rural schools in the area.

She was baptized and confirmed at Tonseth Lutheran Church, rural Erhard.

On Feb. 26, 1955, she married Harry Kugler, in Webster, S.D. They purchased a farm in Friberg Township and farmed for many years until Harry’s retirement.

Nora was employed for seven years at Runningens Café and the Viking Café for 15 years, both in Fergus Falls, as well as being a homemaker.

Nora will be remembered as a hardworking, loving, caring, giving person, remembering everyone with gifts at Christmas and birthdays. She will also be remembered for her great memory and making the best pickles ever.

She was an excellent cook and did a lot of baking, including chocolate chip cookies, doughnuts and bread, with six boys around the farm.

She tended to a big garden, loved country music, playing cards and games, going to parties and programs, visiting with others and spending time with family.

She enjoyed her last year at Riverbend Apartments making new friends and playing many card games.  She was a long time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, serving in the Ladies Aide and helping whenever asked or needed.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Harry; siblings, Phyllix, Norma, Gladys, Harvey, Gorden and Calmer; and Harry’s parents, Alfon and Frances.

Survivors include her six sons, Bruce (Patti) of rural Erhard, Larry (Karen) of rural Fergus Falls, Danny (Denise) of rural Underwood, Terry (Diana) of rural Erhard, David (Kristi) of rural Fergus Falls, and Delayne (Nancy) of Underwood; grandchildren, Wendy (Dale) Muchow, Josh, Melissa, Jill, Kaila (Peter) Krog, Skylar, Taylor, Heather (Josh) Whipple, Shaun, Josephine, Haley, Brittany, Bethanie, Michael, Cole, Britt (Andrew) Ebert; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Noah, McKeana, Christian, Emma, Lucas, Gracie, Sophie, and Riley; a sister, Myrtle Gorden; in-laws, Soren (Mavis) Kugler, Elsie Kugler, Altha Schmidt; and many special nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Sunday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., with a prayer service at 6 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 11 a.m. Monday, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Fergus Falls
