PARKERS PRAIRIE — The Hillcrest boys basketball team moved its winning streak to four games Thursday as it blew past Little Eight Conference foe Parkers Prairie 79-56.

The Comets held a seven point edge at the break, but found the scoring bug in the second half as it dropped in 48 points to cruise to a conference victory.

Dan Nersten led the Hillcrest shooters with 24 points, while teammate Chris Tungseth (14), Evan Newman (11) and Evan Malmstrom (10) were all in double figures in the win. Newman would finish the night with a double-double, pulling down 12 rebounds in the win.

The Comets continue to trail conference leader Battle Lake by one game with the teams’ Feb. 13 meeting becoming increasingly more important late in the season.

The Comets will be back in action Saturday as it hosts Oak Grove at 7:30 p.m.
