An 18-year-old Fergus Falls man faces two felonies after he allegedly stole a vehicle and more than $6,000 worth of items from a Perham residence.

Jesse Alan Strong was charged in Otter Tail County District Court with second-degree burglary and theft, both felonies. His first court appearance was Jan. 2.

According to the criminal complaint, a juvenile male reported that his father’s vehicle was stolen Nov. 26.

The boy was with two other males, including Strong, and returned to the residence in the vehicle, the report says. Strong and the other boy were later reportedly found hiding in the vehicle and told to leave the property by the vehicle’s owner.

The father went to work and his son was sleeping in the residence when Strong allegedly burglarized the home and stole the vehicle. An upstairs door reportedly had pry marks on it.

Items taken from the residence totaled $6,194 and included a Playstation 2, rifles, a shotgun, ammunition, two laptops and briefcases with documents, according to the report.

The next day, the vehicle was reportedly found at a Becker County residence. Strong allegedly hid in a closet; he allegedly had the key for the vehicle. Some of the stolen items were found in the truck, the report says.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 13.
