Tigers maul Otter boys 70-52 in CLC battle

ST. CLOUD — The St. Cloud Tech Tigers showed why it’s the number one team in the Central Lakes Conference Thursday as it defeated the visiting Fergus Falls Otters 70-52.

“We kept it pretty tight through the first half,” Otters assistant coach Zac Lewis said. “Our shots in the second half weren’t falling and we played a little complacent.”

Austin Rund led the Otters with 25 points, while teammate Matthew Monke was also in double figures with 12.

The Tigers were led by star player Andy Foley with 24 points, while Jay Kedrowski (20) and Jake Martig (17) were also scored double digits in the game.

In JV action, the Otter fell 68-61. Ty Pearson scored 21 points. The ninth grade team continued its dominance as it won 70-33. Austin Stanislawski (18), Elijiah Colbeck (16) and Spencer Breen (12) were all in double figures.

The Otters will be back in action Monday as it hosts the Willmar Cardinals in a 7:30 p.m. CLC showdown.
