Panel set to answer arts major questions [UPDATED]Published 10:23am Thursday, February 13, 2014 Updated 12:37pm Thursday, February 13, 2014
If you are thinking about majoring in the visual arts but don’t know where to start, a workshop is planned at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Kaddatz Gallery.
Springboard for the Arts and Kaddatz Gallery will host a panel discussion for students interested in a visual arts degree to help answer any questions you might have about pursuing your drea.m.s.
What is the difference between a BFA and a BA? What do you need to prepare for college applications? What will your parents want to know about a visual arts degree? What careers are available in the arts?
This panel will help students better understand the options and how best to plan for and support an education and a life in the visual arts.
Students are also invited to bring in a work of art for a pop-up exhibition in the basement gallery at the Kaddatz. See what your peers are working on and get feedback from the panelists and gallery curator.
The Pop-up Exhibition will begin at 10 a.m., with the panel discussion beginning at 1 p.m. There will be a reception for panelists and students at 3 p.m.
This program is free and open to all interested students and their parents.
