Fiber exhibit on display [UPDATED]

A fiber exhibit, titled “From Sheep to Shawl,” will be on display from April 1 through May 3, at the Kaddatz Gallery.

A reception and artist’s talk is planned from 5 to 8 p.m. April 3.

From Sheep to Shawl is an installation of fiber pieces which illustrate the arc of fiber arts from functional to purely visual, fiber as fine art. Its emergence in the prehistoric past through the present and into the future.

This project is a collaboration between four fiber artists, Sharon Marquardt, Karen Aakre, Joan Ellison and Katy Olson.

The Kaddatz Gallery will offer a number of workshops and demonstrations in conjunction with this exhibition as follows

Tuesday, April 1:

• Exhibition Opens

Thursday, April 3:

• Opening Reception and Artists Talk, 5 to 8 p.m.

Saturday, April 19:

• Shinfeller Workshop with Karen Aakre, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., $50 materials fee

Saturday, April 26:

• Felted Landscape Workshop with Joan Ellison and Katy Olson, 1 to 5 p.m.

• Kids Felting workshop, as part of the Kaddatz Kidz series, 10 a.m. to noon, $15 registration fee
