Otters close out home season with 67-55 win

The Fergus Falls girls basketball team had one last tuneup on Saturday night before its rematch with section and conference rival Alexandria this week. The Otters took down the visiting Moorhead Spuds 67-55.

Bailey Strand led the Otters in scoring with 31 points on the night. Strand came in with a hot hand and shot 64 percent from the field and 82 percent from the free throw line.

Kristin Traiser and Brianna Rasmusson both followed up with 10 points for the Otters. Rasmusson also had nine assists and nine rebounds on the night. Traiser finished with seven rebounds.

Anna Monke led the Otters off the glass with 11 boards. She finished with nine points.

Moorhead defeated the Otters in the JV game 52-35. Brooklyn Seland led the Otters with 11 points and 12 rebounds in the game, finishing with the double-double.

In the 9th grade game, the Spuds took a 38-25 victory. Emma Daniels led the Otters with seven points.

The Otters improve to 24-0 on the year and travel for a 7:30 p.m. CLC battle with Alexandria Monday night. The Otters finish the year on the road Friday against St. Cloud Tech.
