UNDERWOOD — Jacey Ross’s 15 points led the Underwood girls basketball team past Little Eight Conference and Highway 210 rival Hillcrest Lutheran Academy on Tuesday night, as the Rockets took a 59-47 victory.

The Rockets took an early lead into the locker room, with the score 25-15 at the break. Underwood would only outscore the Comets by two in the second half, but kept Hillcrest from any run for a comeback.

Karlea Thorson scored 11 for the Rockets. Taylor Leitch finished with 14 rebounds, 10 of which coming from the defensive end.

As a team, the Rockets shot 56 percent from the field, including 63 percent in the second half.

Emma Royce led the Comets in scoring with 17. Kelsey Nersten followed with 12.

The Rockets hit the road for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff on Thursday in New York Mills. Hillcrest travels to face the Brandon/Evansville Chargers.
