Published 9:44am Friday, March 7, 2014 Updated 11:45am Friday, March 7, 2014

An almost year-long project got underway last week in Ottertail with the beginning of the research portion of a Comprehensive Plan, according to a report in the Citizen’s Advocate.

The Comprehensive Plan is meant to address a wide range of current and future issues in the city, including economic development, housing and transportation.

City officials have retained David Drawn Associates to form an economic development plan and develop the city’s Comprehensive Plan. The economic development portion of the project will be completed first.

Ottertail residents will have a few chances to participate in the planning.

There will soon be a survey available both on the city’s website and through the mail. A public meeting addressing the Comprehensive Plan is also tentatively set for April.
