Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Eastman, 69, of Battle Lake, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at the Mayo Clinic Hospice in Phoenix, Ariz. Liz fought a brave battle with Amyloidosis for the past several years.
She went home to the Lord surrounded by family and friends.
Elizabeth Ann Peet was born March 6, 1944, at Staples, to Lyle and Bethel Peet. She grew up in the Poplar area and graduated from Staples High School in 1961.
She was baptized on March 20, 1983, at the Lord of Love Lutheran Church in Omaha, Neb.
Liz married Jim Eastman on Dec. 22, 1969. Liz worked with Jim for many years in the trucking business. They permanently located in Battle Lake in 1988.
Liz worked for the Fergus Falls Medical Group from 1988 to 2008.
She was actively involved in Alanon and was an amazing seamstress and quilter.
She made many beautiful quilts and special projects for family and friends.
Liz was a woman of many talents, including having a pilot’s license for many years and growing wonderful flowers and garden produce that she shared.
Liz’s warm demeanor and gentle spirit made a lasting impact on those who knew her. She was deeply loved and respected by all whose lives she touched.
Liz is survived by her husband Jim; children, Cindy (Doug) Schnabel of St. Paul; Tim (Maria) Kludt of Corona, Calif.; Pat Hansen of Valley City, N.D.; Barb Olson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Bruce Eastman of Flagstaff, Ariz.; and Scott (Cari) Eastman of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 14 grandchildren; six (soon to be seven) great-grandchildren; and many special friends and family.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Carol Wadell; and her brother Ron Peet.
A memorial service is planned at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Zion Lutheran Church in Amor. Burial is planned in Poplar at a later date.
The family requests memorials be given to the Fergus Falls Cancer Center or Lakeland Hospice.
