Road warrior Battlers top Chargers

EVANSVILLE — Opening up the Section 6A playoffs on the road, the Battle Lake girls made the Evansville gym feel like home as it claimed a 49-35 win over the Chargers Thursday.

Emily Marso recorded a double-double for the Battlers with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while teammate Katie Rilla chipped in 12 points in the win.

Chargers’ Emily Friedrich had an outstanding game with 27 points and eight boards.

The Battlers will be back on the road as it travels to the University of Minnesota – Morris to take on top seeded West Central Area at 6 p.m. Saturday.
