Runningen rolls 4th 300 game in tournament

Published 9:08am Monday, March 10, 2014

Nate Runningen is no stranger to the Honor Roll score board at Northern Aire Lanes. He struck again on Sunday with another perfect game.

Runningen was rolling on the Kentucky Fried Chicken team when he strung twelve consecutive strikes in game two. Nate’s other games of the set were 226 and 190 for a 716 series.

Even better, he saved the perfect game for tournament play. The Fergus Falls Eagles Aerie 2339 hosted the 67th Annual MN State Eagles Tournament for 2014. The tournament went for three weekends and brought over 40 teams and 165 bowlers to town. The tournament concluded this weekend at Northern Aire Lanes.

Runningen’s 300 was the only one rolled in the tournament that brought bowlers from across the state.

Nate joins former Fergus Falls bowler Andy Kasten with the record four perfect games each recorded at Northern Aire Lanes.

Kasten now lives in homestate, Wisconsin, where he has rolled other record scores, as well.

With just a little over a month to go; Nate currently holds the men’s high series for the season, 780 for three games. Dean Paulson as well as Shaun Steinbach have also rolled perfect games this season at Northern Aire Lanes.
