Bosek, Chargers jolt Arrows

Published 10:52am Friday, April 11, 2014

EVANSVILLE – The Ashby Arrows baseball team opened its season on the road Thursday getting a rude welcome from pitcher Tom Bosek and the Brandon-Evansville Chargers as the host claimed a 10-0 shutout victory.

“It is early in the season and that showed tonight,” Arrows’ coach Chad Akerson said. “We will continue to get better as the season progresses and look forward to some better baseball weather moving forward.”

Bosek was tough from the mound as the Chargers allowed only one hit on the day.

Reed Hanson was pegged with the loss as the Arrow defense committed six errors in its opening game.

The Arrows will continue its road trip as it travels to Barrett to take on the West Central Area Knights at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
