Now more than ever a ‘yes’ vote is needed [UPDATED]

Published 10:23am Thursday, April 3, 2014 Updated 12:26pm Thursday, April 3, 2014

If there was ever a time to rally behind our children and community it is now. The proposed school facilities bond has been stripped down to immediate needs and I urge our community to step up to meet those needs.

An improved green space at the Middle School benefits all children in the District not just athletes. It is needed so students can be active at recess and have ample space for after-school activities.

Many days our students cannot go outside due to the grounds being flooded and unsafe. Our children deserve better and we can make it happen.

Improvements in the auditorium, pool, and tennis courts also benefit the entire community.

A condemned bleacher system at the track, soccer and football field must also be addressed. These items are not a wish list they are a must.

We all have a responsibility to maintain our schools facilities as it is the lifeblood of any community. Let’s improve our community and continue our Otter pride by voting yes.
