Pelican Rapids boys host HOL golf meet

PELICAN RAPIDS — The Pelican Rapids Viking boys golf team hosted a Heart O’Lakes meet at the Birchwood Golf Course.

The Hawley Nuggets won the meet, while Perham (second) and Breckenridge (third) rounded out the top three.

The West Central Knights finished in fourth, tied with Barnesville and Frazee, while hosting Vikings finished in eighth.

Hawley’s Cody Cook shot a 33 for medalist honors. Perham’s Blake Kunza took runner-up honors, three strokes off the leader, and Willy Tickel of Hawley finished in third (38).

Hunter Pfingsten led the Knight boys with a 41 in the 9-hole meet.
