Viking girls golf wins at Frazee

FRAZEE — The Pelican Rapids girls golf team was able to overcome wet and windy conditions Tuesday as it shot a 209 team score to win a Heart O’Lakes Conference meet.

The Vikings were four strokes ahead of runner-up Hawley (213) and seven to third place finisher Perham (216).

Perham’s Rebecca Huus won medalist honors at the meet with a 44, while Pelican’s Alexa Bekkerus came in second with a 45.

Marissa Hayward led West Central Area golfers with a 49 as the Knights placed seventh (234) at the meet.
