BRANDON — In a pigtail game, the West Central Area Knights were able to claim a 10-5 victory over the Ashby Arrows, but saw its playoff hopes dashed as it fell 9-3 to Brandon-Evansville in the Section 6A playoffs Tuesday.

In the opening game, Andrew Lindor was able to get it done on the mound and in the batter’s box as the Knights topped the Arrows.

Lindor would pitch a complete game for West Central allowing three earned and fanning four, while also going 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored.

“We just didn’t have an answer tonight,” Arrows’ coach Chad Akerson said. “They simply out played us and were the better team tonight.”

Morgan Wing led the Arrow hitters in the game going 3-for-3.

In the second game, the Knights could not find the gaps as the hosting Chargers advanced with a 9-3 win.

Buzz Miller and Caden Fernholz each had an RBI for the Knights in the game.

The Knights finish its season with a 6-14 record, while the Arrows ended the year 3-13.
