BARRET — Scoring 12 run in the first three innings, the West Central Area Knights softball team ran away with a 16-11 win Tuesday against the Osakis Silverstreaks.

Amy Benson, Doranna Blascyk and McKenna Blehr helped the Knights build a 12-2 lead, recording three hits apiece.

The Silverstreaks built a comeback through the fourth, fifth and sixth inning, reaching within five. But Blascyk shut the door on Osakis from the mound in the seventh, earning her seventh win of the year.

“Our girls were very excited to beat a quality team like Osakis,” said Knights head coach Bryan Poyzer. “We came out and hit the ball extremely well and had many big two-strike hits.”

With another Prairie Conference win, the Knights improve to 8-3 record overall. WCA hosts Long Prairie Grey Eagle in a doubleheader on Thursday.
