Spartans baseball sweeps Warriors in doubleheader

The M State Spartans baseball team was able to pick up a sweep in its Sunday doubleheader against Central Lakes Community College with 11-1 and 12-6 victories.

In game one, pitcher Dan Hoy was able to keep the Warriors off balance for the win.

Kyle Singer led the Spartan hitters in game one going 2-for-3 with a double, three RBI and a run scored.

The second game saw the Spartans out power the Warriors for the win.

M State’s Tanner Picht was perfect from the dish going 4-for-4 with three RBI, three runs scored, a triple and a stolen base. Teammates Singer (3-for-5, 4 RBI, two stolen bases, run) and Cole Easley (3-for-4, RBI, two stolen bases, run) were also hot from the plate in the win.

The Spartans will now host a best of three divisional playoff Friday and Saturday.
