Hilltop Lumber acquires Ottertail Home Center

Published 11:08am Monday, July 14, 2014

Hilltop Lumber has purchased the assets of Ottertail Home Center, located in Ottertail, effective July 1.

Ottertail Home Center has been in business for over 90 years and was purchased from its recent owners, Duane and Linda Monson. Duane will continue to work at Ottertail Home Center until the end of the year as they make the transition.

“We are a family-owned company that has served the Alexandria lakes area for over 25 years,” Hilltop Lumber General Manager Brian Klimek said. “Adding a new location in the Ottertail lakes region is a good fit. Ottertail Home Center has a reputation for excellent customer service and a knowledgeable sales staff, which is very important to us. Hilltop Lumber does not have their own contractor crews. We have grown by developing strong relationships with our contractors and customers.”

Hilltop Lumber is a family-owned business with full service lumberyard/home improvement centers, a home décor center and a “Do It Best” rental center.

This acquisition expands the company to five locations: Alexandria, Glenwood, Parkers Prairie, Brandon and Ottertail.
