OTC, Lake Park-Audubon split in legion playPublished 10:38am Tuesday, July 1, 2014
BATTLE LAKE — The Otter Tail Central Legion team looked as if they would get on a roll after the first game of the doubleheader, but a strong showing by Lake Park-Audubon saws the two teams split Monday.
In game one, OTC piled on the runs to take a 11-1 victory.
The home team was able to build a 4-0 lead after two innings. OTC would follow that up with a six-run fourth inning that would seal the game.
Nick Trosdahl led the OTC hitters as he recorded a triple, three RBI and a run scored. Teammates Tyler Aune, Justin Masloski and Carl Colburn each had two RBI in the win.
“I think this was our first great all around game the offense, defense, and pitching were awesome,” OTC coach Ryan Hendrickson said.
In game two, LPA turned up its game as it defeated OTC 8-2.
Lake Park was able to get on top early as it held a 3-0 lead after two innings. OTC would get back into the game as Zack Torgerson hit a line drive shot over the left field wall for a two-run home run.
Torgerson’s home run would be the only noise that the OTC hitters would make as LPA added five more runs to pick up the split.
“I really thought this was going to get us rolling and give us the momentum. We really didnt have the killer attitude and give credit to LPA for hitting the whole game,” Hendrickson said.
