oard approves bid for fire pump at transfer station On Tuesday, the county board approved a bid from Simplex Grinnell to install a fire pump and controls. Although the estimated cost was almost $100,000, the fixed price given by Simplex Grinnell was only $54,000. The fire suppression system will take water from the new water line west of town that will be installed by Sept. 15. The transfer station’s new fire protection system will be installed and operational by Dec. 1.
