A 50th wedding anniversary open house for Frank and Lorraine (Swenson) Melby will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at Tordenskjold Lutheran Church, rural Underwood.

Morgan Kaste announces the engagement of her Mom, Heather Kaste, to Christopher Jacobson.
Parents are Kim and David Kaste of rural Battle Lake and Trudy and Jim Jacobson of Wahpeton.
Heather graduated from Pine Manor College, Boston, Mass., and is employed by the Bigwood Event Center in Fergus Falls. Chris graduated from North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, N.D., and is employed by Frito Lay in Fergus Falls.
A June 15, 2007, wedding is planned on Otter Tail Lake.

Tom and Jane Shulstad of Pelican Rapids and Brad and Marilyn Hodenfield of Ray, N.D., announce the engagement of their children, Amy Shulstad and Alan Hodenfield.
Amy is a 2002 graduate of Pelican Rapids High School. Alan is a 2002 graduate of Ray High School. They both attend the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, and will graduate in May with Masters’ degrees in Occupational Therapy. Both will be employed with Big Stone Therapies Inc. in Ortonville.
A June 16 wedding is planned at Central Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids.

The bride to be is a 1999 graduate of Fergus Falls High School. She is employed as a behavior therapist for the Minnesota Autism Center. The groom to be is a 1998 graduate of Washburn High School. He is a mechanic at Zeigler of Shakopee.

Douglas and Doreen Stave of Fargo announce the engagement of their daughter, Alexia Stave, to Calvin Hought, son of Konrad and Darlene Hought of Foxhome.
Alexia is a graduate of Augustana College and is a registared nurse at MeritCare, Fargo. Calvin graduated North Dakota State University and farms near Foxhome.

Heftes celebrate 50th anniversary
Richard and Christine Hefte celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last weekend with their four daughters at the St. Paul Hotel. They were married at Bruflat Lutheran Church in Portland, N.D., on April 22, 1957.

Anna Matthew and Matthew Kalbus, along with their parents Daryl and Viki Matthew of Fergus Falls, Jeff and Susan Jenson of Breckenridge, Walt and Judy Kalbus of Fargo and Chuck and Susan German of Ludden, N.D., announce their engagement.
The bride-to-be is a 1999 graduate of Fergus Falls High School and is a graduate of North Dakota State University where she obtained a degree in Hospitality/Tourism Management and is currently employed as a Catering Manager at Eurest Dining Services/Ameriprise in Minneapolis.
The groom-to-be is a 1997 graduate of Oakes, N.D., High School and a graduate of North Dakota State University where he obtained a degree in Architecture. He is currently employed at RSP Architects in Minneapolis.
A Dec. 8, 2007, wedding is planned at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls.

Amanda Cole and Zackary Stach were married July 15, 2006, at First Baptist Church in Fergus Falls, with the Rev. Ned Erdmans officiating.
Parents are Dr. Wallace and Marlene Cole and Kraig and Pam Stach, all of Fergus Falls.
Matron of honor was Nancy Bunkers, sister of the bride. Bride’s attendants were Jana Wantlet and Natalie Aalsma, sisters of the bride, and Megan Grover, friend of the bride.
Best man was Kristopher Stach, brother of the groom. Groom’s attendants were Corey Stach, brother of the groom, Ray Cole, brother of the bride and Joe Anderson, friend of the groom.
Flowergirls were Allison Bunkers, niece of the bride, and Haylie and Laycie Stach, daughters of the groom. Ringbearers were Trent Stach, son of the groom, and Travis Bunkers, nephew of the bride. Personal attendant was Cara Hought, friend of the bride. Ushers were Corey Linden, fiend of the bride, and Jake Keegan, friend of the groom.
A reception was held at the Eagles Club in Fergus Falls.
The couple lives in Sauk Rapids.

Rachel Shea and Patrick Tuel were married Sept. 23, 2006, at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Millerville.
Parents are Tom and Cathy Shea of Evansville and Dennis, Jr., and Kristin Tuel of Dalton. Grandparents are Minnie Winkels of Alexandria, Dennis and Marsha Tuel of Fergus Falls and Barb and Bob Simkins of Richmond, Ky.
Matron of Honor was Erica Kraemer, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sarah Tuel, sister of the groom, Sarah Meissner, cousin of the bride and Tiffany Bergem, friend of the bride. Junior Bridesmaids were Ashley and Alyssa Kraemer, nieces of the bride. Personal attendant was Michele Shea, sister-in-law of the bride.
Best Man was John Ouren, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Chris Shea, brother of the bride, Mike Tuel, brother of the groom and Kevin Ackley, friend of the groom. Junior Groomsman was Lane Rogers, cousin of the groom.
Ring bearers were Andrew Shea, Thomas Kraemer and Connor Shea, nephews of the bride. Ushers were Peter Shea, brother of the bride, Cory Donnay, Brandon Crowser and Dustin Harris, friends of the groom.
Pat is a Regional Sales Representative on the West Coast for ShoreMaster. Inc. Rachel is the Business Manager for ShoreMaster, Inc. The couple resides in Victorville. Calif.
