Ron and Liz Hanson of Battle Lake will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary on Feb. 28.

The bride-to-be is a Certified Nursing Assistant at Broen Memorial Home, Fergus Falls.

The groom-to-be is a student at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Fergus Falls, and is pursuing a degree in law enforcement. He is employed at Innova industries, Fergus Falls.

A July wedding is planned at Augustana Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

Engagement: Carlson and Phares

Tom and Lynn Carlson of Erhard, together with Bob and Laurie Phares of Freemont, Neb., announce the engagement of their children, Michael T. Carlson and Amy L. Phares.

The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Freemont High School and is a 2007 graduate of Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kan., as an architectural engineer.

The groom-to-be is a 2001 graduate of Pelican Rapids High School and is a 2006 graduate of South Dakota State University, Brookings, as a wildlife and fisheries biologist. He is employed at Carrera's Remodeling in Manhattan, Kan.

An Aug. 18, 2007, wedding is planned at Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard.

Engagement: Klein and Matejcek

Mandy Matejcek and Tyler Klein announce their engagement.

Parents are Robert and Cindy Matejcek and Alan and Tammy Klein, all of Wahpeton.

Mandy graduated from North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, and is an at-home mother.

Tyler is employed by SEI for Microsoft.

An April 27, 2007, wedding is planned at St John’s Catholic Church, Wahpeton.

Anniversary: Iversen

Elden and Elaine Iversen will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Grace Methodist Church, Fergus Falls. No gifts please.

Wedding: Braaten and Kress

Lesley Ann Kress and Chad David Braaten were married Dec. 16, 2006, at First Church of the Nazarene, Fergus Falls.

Parents are Jeff and Lori Kress and Dave and Marie Braaten, all of Fergus Falls.

Attendants were Kara Braaten and Grant Kress, both of Fergus Falls.

The couple makes their home in Fargo.

Rebecca Lugert and John Svingen were married Aug. 5, 2006, at Phelps Mill County Park, with the Rev. Jon Olson officiating.

Parents are Ann and Kris Svingen of Fergus Falls and Jeannie and Marvin Lugert of Lidgerwood, N.D.

Attendants were Naomi Lugert, Elizabeth Lugert and Anna Schmitz, all sisters of bride, and Jason Retzlaff, Bjorn Kleven and Sean Anderson, all friends of the couple.

Flower girl was Emilee Solberg, daughter of the couple.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Lidgerwood High School and is a student at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Fergus Falls. She is employed by Security State Bank, Fergus Falls.

The groom is a 1996 graduate of Fergus Falls High School and is a 2001 graduate of the University of Minnesota, Morris. He is employed by N.F. Field Abstract Company, Fergus Falls.

The couple resides in Fergus Falls.
