Dawn Christ and Todd Schroeder announce their engagement. Parents of the couple are Terry and Elizabeth Christ of Casselton, N.D., and Gary Schroeder and Sue Schroeder, both of Fergus Falls.
She is a 1996 graduate of Central Cass High School in Casselton and is a certified nursing assistant at Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls.
He is a 1995 graduate of Fergus Falls High School and is employed with Sundberg Apiaries in Fergus Falls.
A Sept. 22, 2007, wedding is planned at Hope Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.
Engagement: Griep and Benson
Rick and Tammy Bestul of Ashby, John and Nancy Benson of Rosemount, and Tim and Sharon Griep of Ashby would like to announce the engagement of their children Cassandra Ann Benson and Mitchell Roy Griep.
Cassandra is a 2002 graduate of Ashby High School and a 2006 graduate of the Art Institutes International, Minnesota with a bachelor of science degree in interior design. She is employed by Ellerbe Becket of Minneapolis.
Mitchell is a 1999 graduate of Ashby High School and a 2004 graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a bachelor of science in finance. He is employed by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans in Bloomington.
A Sept. 8, 2007, wedding is planned at Peace Lutheran Church in Ashby.
Wedding: Johnson and
Sarah Gorghuber and Elliot Johnson were married June 16, 2007, at Aastad Lutheran Church, rural Fergus Falls, with the Rev. Dan Cole officiating.
Parents of the couple are Dave and Daria Gorghuber and Kari and Donald Gronli, all of Fegus Falls, and Jeffrey Johnson, New London.
Attending the bride were Jessica Jensen and Claire Roberts, friends of the bride, Stephanie Gorghuber, sister of the bride, Desiree Johnson, sister of the groom and Samantha Sunstrom, cousin of the bride. Flowergirl was Paige Sunstrom, cousin of the bride
The groom’s attendants were Jeffrey Johnson, father of the groom, Charles Epps IV, and Joseph Wallington, friends of the groom, Wesley Johnson, brother of the groom, and Daniel Gorghuber, brother of the bride.
Samuel Black, cousin of the groom, served as ringbearer.
Ushers were Robert Gorghuber, brother of the bride, Dale Boese, uncle of the bride, Jeffery Boese, cousin of the bride, and Dean Hauge, friend of the groom
A reception and dance was held at the Eagles following the ceremony.
The bride and groom are both 2005 graduates of Fergus Falls High School and are students at St. Cloud State University.
Sarah a also a 2006 graduate of Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Fergus Falls and is employed at United Prairie Bank in Spicer. The groom is employed at Cashwise Foods in New London.
The couple makes their home in St. Cloud.
Engagement: Johnson and McGuinness
Jack and Linda McGuinness of Billings, Mont., and Randy and Vonnie Johnson of Fergus Falls, announce the engagement of their children, Kara and Matthew.
She has a master’s degree in therapy from the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D., and will be employed with the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District in Soldotna, Alaska.
He is a 2002 graduate of Fergus Falls High School and the University of Mary with degrees in special education and elementary education. He will also be employed with the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District.
A Sept. 1, 2007, wedding is planned at Yellowstone Lutheran Church in Billings.
Engagement: Marfell and Beck
Galen and Cindy Beck of Fergus Falls announce the engagement of their daughter, Jodi, to Sgt. Timothy Marfell, son of Kaye Marfell of San Antonio, Texas.
Jodi is a 2002 Fergus Falls High School graduate and 2007 graduate of Concordia University, St. Paul, with a bachelor's degree as a director of Christian education.
Timothy is a 2000 graduate of Marshall High School, San Antonio, Texas, and has served in the Army for six years and is serving his third tour of duty in Iraq. Sgt. Marfell, scheduled to return in July, has been extended until September.
A Nov. 24, 2007, wedding is planned at Central Park in Woodbury.

Ted and Lois Rotenberger will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary during an open house in their honor from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at their home on East Battle Lake, 23988 Liberty Trail in Henning.
Anniversary: Shulstad and
Tom and Jane Shulstad will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with a family dinner, including Amy, Ellen, Nathan and Eric on Sunday, Aug. 5. The couple was married July 31.
