James and Richelle Barvels of Breckenridge announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Barvels to David Nelson, son of April and Brent Thompson of Henning and Denise and Mark Nelson of Thief River Falls.

She is a 2005 graduate of Breckenridge High School and a 2007 graduate of the College of St. Catherine, with a degree as a physical therapy assistant.

He is a 2004 graduate of Fergus Falls High School and is employed with Brenton Engineering in Carlos.

An Aug. 24, 2007, wedding is planned at Church of Peace United Methodist Church in Fergus Falls.

Anniversary: Stoa and

Stoas celebrate 50th anniversary

Don and Alva Stoa will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house in their honor from 2 to 5 p.m. June 16, in the fellowship hall at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. A short program is planned at 2:15 p.m.

Their children and grandchildren will serve as hosts.

Wickstroms celebrate 55th anniversary

Art and Marion Wickstrom will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary with their family. The couple was married June 7, 1952, in Chicago, Ill.

Wedding: Walvatne

JoAnn Jennen and Lance Walvatne were married in an outdoor wedding July 7, 2006, at Thumper Pond Resort in Ottertail, with the Rev. Jesse Taylor, uncle of the groom, officiating.

Parents of the couple are Peter and Lori Jennen and Dan and Teddi Walvatne, all of Fergus Falls.

Attending the bride were Lindsay Fawcett, Kate Schuetze, Angela Schmidt and Jill Jennen. Flower girl was Sara Jennen, sister of the bride. Tara Kaseman was personal attendant.

Attending the groom were Luke Walvatne, brother of the groom, Taylor Siemon, cousin of the grrom, Ben Olson and Matt Hiller. Luken Jennen, brother of the bride, served ring bearer.

A reception followed the ceremony at Thumper Pond Resort.

The bride is the owner of Coffee Cabin in Fergus Falls, and the groom is employed at the Pebble Lake Golf Course and is attending Penn State full time.

The couple lives in Dalton.

Jodi Hensch and Jonathan Volgren, along with their parents, Jerry and Becky Hensch of Fergus Falls, and Steve and Cheryl Volgren of Balsam Lake, Wis., announce their engagement.

She is a 2000 graduate of Fergus Falls High School and a 2004 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. She is employed at Wells Fargo in South St. Paul.

He is a 1998 graduate of Unity High School in Balsam Lake, and is employed by PEPST Trucking Inc., in Centuria, Wis.

An Aug. 18, 2007, wedding is planned at Ezekiel Lutheran Church in River Falls, Wis.
