Drews celebrate 50th anniversary

Gerry and Lorraine Drews celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 9. Cake and coffee was served to their church family at Faith Lutheran Church on Sunday, June 10th. A private family celebration was also held.

Gerald Drews and Lorraine Heggestad were married on June 9, 1957, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Lowry. They have spent most of that time in Dane Prairie Township on the farm that was originally purchased more than 100 years ago by Gerry's grandfather.

They have two sons: Clay (Kim) and sons, Chris and JJ of Elbow Lake; and Jon (Julie) and family, Ryen (Heidi), and Anna of Fergus Falls.

Johnsons celebrate 60th anniversay

Orville and Lorraine Johnson were married June 22, 1947, at First Lutheran Church in Bottineau, N.D.

Friends will host a private dinner party at Ten Mile Lake today.

They will attend a family gathering in Minneapolis at a later date to commemorate their anniversary.

The children and grandchildren of Pat and Ethel Brown invite everyone to an open house in honor of their parents’ 50th wedding anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Our Savior’s Ten Mile Lake Church in Dalton.

Martys celebrate 50th anniversary

Jim and Janice Marty will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary during an open house in their honor from 5:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday, at the Marty farm.

The couple was married Feb. 8, 1958, at St. Leonard’s Catholic Church in Pelican Rapids.

They have 10 children; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Wedding: Abramson and

John and Sandy Hoffmann of Bemidji announce the marriage of their daughter, Krista, to Matthew Abramson, son of Richard and Judi Abramson of Fergus Falls. They were married March 31, 2007, at Tordenskjold Free Lutheran Church in Underwood, with the Rev. Steve Carlson officiating.

Serving as maid of honor was Joni Hoffmann, sister of the bride. Tilly Abramson and Mia Hoffmann, nieces of the bride and groom, were flower girls.

Best man was Lance Abramson, brother of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Thumper Pond in Ottertail.

Krista is a preschool teacher at Bethel University’s Child Development Center in St. Paul. Matt is a financial analyst for Fabcon in Savage.

The couple lives in South St. Paul.

Janice Ripplinger, daughter of Keith and Teresa Ripplinger of Upsala, and Ryan Hendrickson, son of Lanny and Jackie Hendrickson of Fergus Falls, announce their engagement.

Janice is a graduate of Minnesota State Community College, Moorhead and Ryan is a graduate of University of North Dakota.

A June 23, 2007, wedding is planned at Augustana Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

They were married June 23, 1957, at First Lutheran Church in New Rockford, N.D.

Hosting the event are their children, Brian and Sandy Haugen, Kathy and Richard Arntson and Joann and Jerry Hebel; and their seven grandchildren.

Maid of honor was Holli Brager, Moorhead. Bridesmaids were Rachel Pecka, Seattle, Wash.; Gina Steyn and Elizabeth Harris, both of Fergus Falls. Flower girl was Maria Boe of Grand Forks, N.D. Personal attendant was Jessica Hagen of Underwood.

Best man was Matthew Danner, Fergus Falls. Groomsmen were Christopher Halverson, Hager City, Wis., and Andrew Miller, Fergus Falls. Ringbeaer was Nicholas Boe, Grand Forks. Ushers were Cameron Dean, Fergus Falls; Ross Baker, Rochester; Christopher Boe, Grand Forks and Dale Hanstad, Fergus Falls.

A reception followed at The Bigwood Event Center.
