Rany and Vonnie Johnson and Tom and Deb Jennen, all of Fergus Falls, announce the engagement of their children, Erica Joy and Matthew John.

She is a student at North Dakota State University majoring in nursing and is employed at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls.

He is a graduate of North Dakota State University in 2006, with a degree in agricultural economics. He farms near Fergus Falls.

A July 7, 2007, wedding is planned at Bethel Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

Engagement: Lewis and Borowski

Heather Nicole Borowski and Zachary Ryan Lewis, along with their parents, Wesley and Sheila Borowski, and Roger and Susan Lewis, announce their engagement.

Heather is a 2003 graduate of Hillcrest Academy in Fergus Falls and a 2006 graduate of Aakers College of Fargo, with a degree in business management.

Zachary is a 2004 graduate of Fergus Falls High School and is continuing his education toward a degree in secondary education.

A June 16, 2007, wedding is planned at Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church in Fergus Falls.

The couple plans on residing in Moorhead.

Sandra Lee-Shearer of Duluth, formerly of Fergus Falls, announces the engagement of her daughter, Lindsay Lee, to Patrick Arbach, son of Don and Patricia Arbach of Sisseton, S.D.

Lindsay is a 2001 graduate of Fergus Falls High School and a 2005 graduate of North Dakota State University with a degree in child development family science. She is employed by Clay-Wilkin Head Start, Moorhead.

Patrick is a 2000 graduate of Sisseton High School and attends Minnesota State University Moorhead, pursuing a degree in political science. He is employed by Bank of The West, Fargo.

A June 2, 2007, wedding is planned at First Lutheran Church in Fargo.

Engagement: Syverson and Peterson

Sarah D. Peterson and Christopher Syverson announce their engagement.

Parents of the couple are Michelle Peterson of Fargo, formerly of Monticello, Clayton and Sherri Peterson of Erhard; Jackie (Ted) Meyer-Spitz-Lake of Havasu City Ariz., the late Russ C. Meyer, and Lyndon (Peggy) Syverson of Fargo.

She is a 2000 graduate of Monticello High School and a 2003 Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Fergus Falls.

She is employed as the office manager for Dr. Steven M. Agnes in Fargo

He is a 1993 graduate of Moorhead High School and is employed as a truck driver for Otto Transportation in West Fargo.

A June 9, 2007 wedding is planned at Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard.

The couple will make their home in Fargo.

Vorderbruggens note 50th anniversary

Nestor and Evelyn (Wegscheid) Vorderbruggen of Battle Lake are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today with a private reception and dinner. They were married May 9, 1957, at Bluffton.

Michael Lanoue announces the engagement of his parents, Alicia Kay Knutson and Ryan Michael Joseph Lanoue.

She is the daughter of Tina Norenberg and Dean and Denise Knutson; he is the son of Jolene and Daryl Tople and the late Mike Lanoue.

She is a 2003 graduate of Ashby High School.

He is a 2003 graduate of Underwood High School and is employed at Minnesota Motor Company in Fergus Falls.

Parents of the couple are David Smith of Devils Lake, N.D., Julie Smith of Bismarck, N.D., and Craig and Barb Godel of Fergus Falls.

Tammy is a graduate of Bismarck High School and is employed at PRACS Institute, LTD, Fargo.

Cody is a graduate of Fergus Falls High School and is employed at Midland Garage Door Co., PRACS Institute and is training to be a paramedic.

An Aug. 10 wedding is planned at Little Chapel of the Flowers in Las Vegas, Nev.

Melissa Lund and John Hexum, both of Underwood, announce their engagement.

Parents of the couple are Peter and Debra Lund of Fargo, Patricia Perkins of Centennial, Colo., and Harry and Barbara Hexum of Fergus Falls.

She is employed as a personal banker with American Federal Bank in Fergus Falls.

John is employed as a mortgage broker with Pioneer Mortgage in Fergus Falls.

Wedding: Sakkinen

Alana Jean Goltz and Aaron Leo Sakkinen were married Sept. 16, 2006, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, with the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating.

Parents of the couple are David and Sheri Goltz of Fergus Falls and Larry and Teresa Sakkinen of Clearwater. Grandparents are Lois Morris of Fergus Falls, Carl and Mary Ann Butzin of Sebeka and Betty Sakkinen of Menahga.

The maid of honor was Jenny Glorvigen. The bride’s attendants were Carrie Hopponen, Erin Ouren, Jessica Holmdahl, LeAnn Goltz, sister-in-law of the bride, Tara Geary and Lynn Sakkinen, sister of the groom. Amy Burke was the personal attendant.

Best man was Corey Sakkinen, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Nick Anderson, Richard Petty, Darren Heying, Darren Goltz and Brandon Goltz, brothers of the bride, and Toby Pearson.

Ty Pearson, the groom’s nephew, was a ring bearer and Logan Goltz, the bride’s nephew, was an honorary ring bearer. Ushers were Travis Lusti, Mark Dingmann, Travis Denny and Shawn Lindsay.

A reception and dance followed the ceremony at the National Guard Armory in Fergus Falls.

The couple makes their home in St. Cloud, where Aaron is a transportation broker with C.H. Robinson, and Alana is a massage therapist.
