Dune and Mar Jane (Beach) Mavis were married Sept. 28, 1957, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. They will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a trip to the Carolinas later this fall.

They are the parents of three children, Brad of California, Robert of Minnesota and Janelle of North Carolina.

Anniversary: Johnson and

Beanie and LaVon Johnson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary during an open house in their honor from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at the community center in Rothsay. The event will be hosted by their children.

They were married Sept. 28, 1957, at the Alliance Church at Battle Lake

Emily Mohagen and Craig Patelski announce their engagement.

Emily is a 2001 graduate of West Central Area Secondary School and a 2007 graduate of Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Fergus Falls with an associate degree in nursing. She is employed as an registered nurse at the Barrett Care Center in Barrett.

Craig is a 2003 graduate of St. Charles Community High School of St. Charles, Mich. He is self-employed as a flooring installer with Selands Floor Center of Fergus Falls.

An Oct. 20, 2007, wedding is planned at Bethel Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

Jerry and Lorraine Erickson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary during an open house in their honor from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

Laura Karen Karlik and Jason Brian Jahnke, along with their parents, the Rev. Tony and Karen Karlik of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., and Brian and Elaine Jahnke of Fergus Falls, announce their engagement.

Laura is a 2001 graduate of Curtis High School, Staten Island, N.Y., and has received her BLN from Mount Saint Mary College.

Jason is a 2001 graduate of Fergus Falls High School and is a sergeant in the 4th Infantry Division of the United States Army stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, Colo. In December, he will begin his second tour of duty in Iraq.

An Oct. 12, 2007, wedding is planned at Mount Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church in Mount Bethel, Pa.

Engagement: Crabtree and Tommerdahl

Kay and Stuart Tommerdahl of Fergus Falls announce the engagement of their daughter Sarah, to Tyler Crabtree, son of Kerri and Dean Dolan of Fergus Falls and Scott and Sonja Crabtree of Fargo.

Sarah is a 2005 graduate of Fergus Falls High School, and is a junior at Bethel University in Roseville majoring in communication studies.

Tyier is a 2005 graduate of Hillcrest Lutheran Academy and is a junior at Northwestern College in Roseville, majoring in kinesiology, in preparation for chiropractic school.
