Wedding: Howard and Selbher

Kelley Jo Howard and George Frederick Selbher were married in an outdoor wedding on June 20, 2008, at Union Gospel Mission Ministry Center in Shoreview.

Parents of the couple are Leonard and Marilyn Howard of Fergus Falls and John and Susan Selbher of Newton, Iowa.

Serving as matron of honor was Julie Fuerst. Bridesmaids were Teri Selbher, Jennifer Howard, Marla Peters and Karla Rydberg. Junior Bridesmaid was McKenna Howard. Flower girls were Madison Howard Kallie Van Kley, Lidia Peters and Bethany Selbher (honorary). Personal attendant was Cari Bixel.

Best man was Jerry Selbher. Groomsmen were Bryan Van Kley, Lance Howard, Matthew Waddell and Carl Smith. Ring bearers were Benjamin Fuerst and Luke Howard. Good news bearer was Jackson Fuerst. Brent Kelley, James Fane and Toby Fuerst served as ushers.

A reception followed at the Ministry Center on the grounds.

The bride is employed at Union Gospel Mission in St. Paul. Groom is employed by POPP.com in Golden Valley.

The couple lives in Woodbury.

Engagement: Haugse and Clinton

Don and Tina Haugse of Fergus Falls, along with Steve and Debbie Nelson of Clinton, announce the engagement of their children, Nikki and Jesse.

She is a graduate of Fergus Falls High School and is pursuing a nursing degree. She is employed at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.

He is a graduate of Ortonville High School and is a specialist in the U.S. Army National Guard. He is employed at Contemporary Builders in Fargo.

An Oct. 25, 2008, wedding is planned at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

Engagement: Schmidt and Olson

Greg and Rhonda Schmidt of Fergus Falls announce the engagement of their daughter, Shawna Kimberly, to Daniel Joseph Olson, son of Cal and Terri Cooley of Fergus Falls and Don and Sheri Olson of Battle. Lake.

She is a 2004 graduate of Fergus Falls High School and is attending MSU. She will graduate in May with a bachelor’s degree in social work.

He is a 2003 graduate of Fergus Falls High School and is attending college pursuing a degree in biology. He is actively serving in the Minnesota National Guard and has completed a tour in Iraq.

An Oct. 25, 2008, wedding is planned at Augustana Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

Engagement: Landon and Steidl, Jr.

Kristy Landon and Richard Steidl, Jr., both of Boise, Idaho, announce their engagement. Parents of the couple are Tom Landon of Curlew, Wash., Naomi and John Hanson of Colburn, Idaho, and Richard and Joyce Steidl of Moorhead.

She is a computer-aided drafter for Eidam and Associates of Boise, Idaho, and he is a lineman for Idaho Power.

A Feb. 28, 2009, wedding is planned.

Engagement: Matthews and Smedstad

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Matthews of Fargo, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Neumann of Fergus Falls announce the engagement of their daughter, Danielle Rebecca, to Tighe Sullivan Smedstad, son of Mr. and Mrs. Smedstad of Maple Grove.

Danielle is a 2008 graduate of University of Mary-Bismarck masters program and 2006 graduate Valley City State University.

She is employed as branch manager for CitiFinancial in St Louis Park.

Tighe is a student at Anoka technical college in the paramedic program and is employed with Fairview Southdale Hospital working in the operating room.

An Oct. 11, 2008, wedding is planned at Bethel Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

Anniversary: Hovland

Lloyd and Ardis Hovland will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary during an open house in their honor from 2 to 4 pm. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard.
