Bernard and Shirley Scott will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary during an open house in their honor from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Trefoldighed Lutheran Church in rural Battle Lake.

The event will be hosted by their children.

Julene Joy Ramirez and Donald Lee Ruby announce their engagement. Parents of the couple are Jim and Gerry Drechsel of Fergus Falls, and the late Paul and Carol Ruby.

Sons of the bride are Louie Ramirez and John Ramirez of Alexandria. Son of the groom is Kevin Ruby of Carbondale, Ill.

She is a 1973 graduate of Fergus Falls High School. He is a 1972 graduate of Osage City High School in Kansas.

A Nov. 8, 2008, wedding is planned at Faith Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.

Carmon and Audrey Jackson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary during an open house reception in their honor from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, during coffee hour at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.
