Wedding: Wahlgren and Field
Cristi Gail Wahlgren and Timothy Mark Field were married at a 4 p.m. ceremony Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Elizabeth, with the Rev. Arnold Lindgren presiding.
Parents of the couple are Clifton and Marlene Wahlgren, Richard and Beverly Field, Mary Field and Ron Zimmerman, all of Fergus Falls.
Attending the bride was her sister-in-law, Heather Wahlgren as matron of honor. Junior bridesmaid was Samantha Wahlgren, niece of the bride. Flower girls were Jessica and Allison Wahlgren, nieces of the bride. Personal attendants were Jean and Kathy Wahlgren, sisters-in-law of the bride.
Attending the groom as best man was Ryan Field, son of the groom and junior groomsman was Bradie Wahlgren, nephew of the bride. Ushers were the bride’s three brothers, Colin, Clark and Carter Wahlgren.
Honored guests were Vanessa Field, daughter-in-law of the groom and Ervin and Camilla Rocholl, godparents of the bride. Guitar music was provided by Brenda Rocholl, cousin of the bride.
At the guest book was Brenda Grundy, sister of the groom. Flower attendants and hostesses were Fonda Knudson, sister of the groom and Bonnie Praska, step-sister of the groom. Gift table attendants were Lisa Ross, sister of the groom and Dawn Bratlien, step-sister of the groom. Punch bowl was Terry Field, sister-in-law of the groom and Kim Fuhrman, step-sister of the groom.
A reception and dance was held at the VFW in Fergus Falls.
Both the bride and groom are employed in the Fergus Falls area and live at rural Fergus Falls.
Engagement: Gerdes and Honrud
Tonya Gerdes and Steve Honrud announce their engagement. Parents of the couple are Allen and Barb Gerdes of Villard, Mike Honrud of Fergus Falls, and Peggy Honrud of Erhard.
She is a 1991 graduate of Villard High School and a 1992 graduate of St. Cloud Technical College. She has worked at her family daycare in Alexandria for the past 15 years.
He is a 1985 graduate of Pelican Rapids High School. He attended Fergus Falls Community College and graduated from the welding program at Alexandria Technical College. He has worked the past 10 years as a maintenance supervisor at Jeanie 0 Turkeys in Pelican Rapids.
An Oct. 18, 2008, wedding is planned at St. John's Lutheran Church in Villard.
Engagement: Backman and Hegerle
Melissa Backman and Collin Hegerle announce their engagement. Parents of the couple are Dale and Marilyn Backman of Sisseton, S.D., and Ron and Cheryl Hegerle of Pelican Rapids.
Melissa is a 2003 graduate of Sisseton High School and continued her education at Moorhead Tech, earning a degree in administrative assistant. She is employed with Merit Care in Fargo.
Collin is a 2001 graduate of Fergus Falls High School. He received his degree at WYO Tech in Wyoming for auto body specialist. He is employed with DMI as a welder in Fargo.
A Oct. 11, 2008, wedding is planned at Grace Lutheran Church in Sisseton.
Engagement: Larson and Malecha
Floyd and Cheryl Larson of Dalton, announce the engagement of their daughter, Anna Marie, to Paul William, son of Robert and Marion Malecha of Battle Lake
Anna is a student at MSCTC in Fergus Falls studying music theory, and is employed with Mills Fleet Farm of Fergus Falls.
Paul is a 2002 graduate of Henning High School and is employed as an assistant manager with Arby's of Fergus Falls and as a church organist in Henning.
An Oct. 11, 2008, wedding is planned at Church of St. Edward in Henning.
Engagement: Gnahn and Portner
Erica Gnahn and Michael Portner announce their engagement. Parents of the couple are Debra Stengrim of Erhard and Charles Gnahn of Hewitt, and Mary Jane and Steven Portner of New Ulm.
Erica is a graduate of Mayo College of Medicine/ University of Minnesota with a B.S in Respiratory Therapy. She is employed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester.
Mike is a graduate from Ridgewater College, and attended Mankato State University. He is employed as a Program Director for REM River Bluffs in Rochester.
An Oct. 18th, 2008, wedding is planned at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.
Anniversary: Westerberg
Ray and Sybil Westerberg will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with family. They were married Sept. 27, 1958, in Fergus Falls. The couple has two children, Jeff (Julie) Westerberg and Amy (Ben) Jurgens, and three grandchildren, all of Fergus Falls.
Anniversary: Johnson
Jerry and Verna Johnson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Sept. 28. They were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids on Sept. 28, 1958.
They are the parents of three sons, the late Mark Johnson, David (Suzanne) of Moorhead, and Paul of Chicago, Ill.; and three grandchildren, C.J., Jennifer and Jillian.
Anniversary: Renner
James and Florence “Butch” Renner will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary during an open house in their honor from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the VFW in Fergus Falls. Their children and grandchildren will serve as hosts.
They were married Oct. 2, 1948, at St. Leonard’s Catholic Church in Pelican Rapids.
