He was born July 9, 1965, in Minneapolis, to Wilson and Mary (Heibel) Saenger. He was baptized at Holy Family Catholic Church in St. Louis Park. He moved with his family to Fergus Falls in 1972, and was confirmed at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. He graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1983, and attended Willmar Community College and Fergus Falls Community College. In 1986, he married Kim Lundsetter and they had three children, Trista, Taryn and Tiana. In 1999, he married Kristy Anderson and they had one son, Noah. He managed the Service Department at Fergus Motors and then worked for the Wadena Motor Company in the Service Department. He managed the Rothsay Truck Stop in Rothsay. Then he and Kristy owned and operated Yummy's Treats an d Eats at WestRidge Mall in Fergus Falls. Presently he was a Management Consultant for four Cenex Convience Stores in the Fargo-Moorhead area. He enjoyed the outdoors, bow hunting and home remodeling. He had a passion for flying and was an avid reader. He loved his children and family. He is survived by his wife, Kristy of Moorhead; a son, Noah; three daughters, Trista, Taryn and Tiana; his parents, Wilson and Mary Saenger of Fergus Falls; a sister, Sharon (Scott) Deibert of Batavia, Ill.; a brother, Mark (Marla) Saenger of Big Lake; grandparents, Clara Heibel of St. Cloud, Wilson and Millie Thomas of Charleston, S.C., and Donald Saenger of Maple Grove; nieces, Angie, Shannon, Kelly and Kelsey; nephews, Ryan, Ian, Tyler and Bryce; his mother-in-law, Janice Anderson of Erhard; and a sister-in-law, Kathy (Quentin) Conklin of Horace, N.D. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jennie Saenger; a grandfather, Clarence Heibel; and his father-in-law, Dale Anderson. Robert Kieffer and Sister Joyce Leibly Burial: St. Otto's Catholic Cemetery Funeral Home: Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls Myrtle Fick Myrtle Fick, 86, of Ashby, died Friday, May 31, 2002, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. She was born Oct. 16, 1915, in St. Olaf Township, rural Dalton, to Theodore and Emma (Pederson) Risbrudt. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Olaf Lutheran Church and attended School District 2. She then worked for various families in the area. On June 24, 1939, she married Herbert Fick in Ashby. They lived in Buxton, N.D., and St. Joseph, while he was employed with the railroad. They returned to the Dalton area where they made their home. She worked as a telephone operator and was an Election Judge for the City of Dalton for many years. She also worked as a cook at the Dalton School and then for Medallion Kitchens in Fergus Falls. Mr. Fick died Nov. 2, 1968. She was a member of Our Savior's Ten Mile Lake Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in the Ladies groups. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, making rugs and needlework. She also enjoyed visiting and talking on the phone. Attending her grandchildren's activies was her greatest joy and she never missed one of their events. She is survived by a son, Terry (Val) Fick of Ashby; three grandchildren, Kevin (Dori) Fick, Kristyn Fick and Kyle Fick all of Ashby; four great-grandchildren, Shawn, Benjamin, Hunter and Kyle; and two sisters, Theoline Holo of Battle Lake and Irene Thompson of Ashby. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert; brothers, Clark and Truman and sisters, Grace, Evelyn, Lorraine and LaVonne. Wienbar, 80, of Alamo, Texas, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, in McAllen, Texas. He served in the Air Force during World War II. He was an hororable man who enjoyed golf, building large bird houses and a good joke. He enjoyed an active retirement in Texas and Minnesota with his beloved Dolores Ness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; his parents, George and Minnie Wienbar; four brothers, Clarence, Amos, Robert and Donald; and a nephew, Mark. Survivors include a daughter, Margy and Amy Gillespie of Albuquerque, N.M.; a son, Charles (Sharon), Sophia and Cleo of San Mateo, Calif.; Jeff Ness and Mark Tillman of St. Louis, Mo.; Brian, Mary, Anna and Connor Ness of St. Paul; a sister, Arlene and Walt Henryson of Portland, Ore.; a brother, Lester (Karen) Wienbar of Redfield, S.D.; and many nieces and nephews in Minnesota, North Dakota and Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family requests tha memorial contributions be sent to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Mexico, the Lucy Project at Alamo Country Club or a worthy charity of the donor's choice. A memorial service is planned at 11 a.m. at Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls. Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan, Texas and Olson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls are in charge of arrangements. Harlo Poppen Harlo Poppen, 76, of Vining, died at his home on Wednesday, May 29, 2002. Funeral services were Saturday, June 1, at St. William's Catholic Church in Parkers Prairie. Markham Funeral Home in Parkers Prairie was in charge of arrangements. Mavis Hedstrom Mavis F. (Mrs. Darwin) Hedstrom, 81, of Hoffman, died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at ELEAH Medical Center in Elbow Lake. Arrangements are pending with Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Hoffman. LaRae Veazie LaRae J. Veazie, 37, of rural Dent, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. Arrangements are pending with Olson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls. Gladyce Trunell Gladyce Trunell, 83, of Henning, died on Friday, May 31, 2002, at the Henning Health Care Center. Funeral services are planned at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Belmont Funeral Home in Henning, with the Rev. Roger Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Inman Cemetery near Henning. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Robert Offerdahl Robert Offerdahl, 76, of rural Clitherall, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, at Eagle Lake Lutheran Church of rural Battle Lake, with the Rev. Don Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Battle Lake and one hour prior to the service at the church. Larry Issendorf Larry E. Issendorf, 52, of rural Henning, died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at his home. A memorial service is planned at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nidaros Lutheran Church of rural Clitherall, with the Rev. Connie Tiede officiating. Burial will be in Kinkead Cemetery at Alexandria. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 8 p.m., at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Battle Lake. Vera Halstead Vera M. Halstead, 84, of Bemidji, formerly of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, June 1, 2002, at North Country Hospital in Bemidji. She was born on a farm in Ottertail County near Dent, to William and Esther (Henstrand) Swanson. She attended school through the eighth grade at the Redington school and then graduated from Perham High School. She began working as a housekeeper and worked near home and then in Minneapolis. On June 17, 1939, she married Harold H. Halstead. They lived on the Halstead family homestead near Underwood, and began raising their family of a son and three daughters. In 1954, they moved the family into Fergus Falls and Mrs. Halstead began working at the Fergus Falls State Hospital as a Rehab Technician. They bought some property on Pickeral Lake and began building what was to become their home. Vera retired after 23 years at the state hospital. She and her husband later moved into Fergus Falls and then in September of 2000, they moved to Bemidji to be near their children. She taught Sunday School for many years both at Maine Presbyterian Church and at the United Methodist Church in Fergus Falls. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed quilt making, gardening crosswords and board games. She and Harold had traveled across much of the US to visit their family. She is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Harold Halstead, Bemidji; 4 daughters Nancy (Dwayne) Mattfield, Bemidji; Geneva (James) Velez, Buckley, WA; Verna (Robert) Norland, Fertile, MN & Sharon (James) Wilkinson, Bemidji; 1 son Tom (Peggy) Halstead, Bemidji; 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law LaVina Miller, Dent; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Arvid, Edwin, William and Vern; and a sister Alice. Memorials are preferred to Maine Presbyterian Church, Underwood. Visitation: Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji and one hour prior to the service at the church Service: 1:30 p.m., Wednesday at Maine Presbyterian Church, rural Underwood Clergy: Rev.
